Curbmate's Decorative Curbing Machines are the Best in the Industry!
Why are Curbmate's decorative curbing machines the best in the industry? Grab yourself some popcorn and a cold beverage and I will tell you some history about Curbmate that will help you to understand why and how our machines are better than the competition.
Curbmate opened its doors in 1983. It was the first curbing company in the United States. Now, being the oldest doesn't always make you the best, but it helps. We have spent more than 25 years perfecting our curb machines! We don't come up with all of the ideas on our own, the curbers who run Curbmate machines have helped us out along the way. By the way, we have sold over 3000 machines, so we have received a lot of feedback over the years and have made a lot of improvements. Here are some of the things that make Curbmate decorative curbing machines better than the competition.
Speed. The Curbmate machines are faster than most other machines on the market. Our gas powered machines come with Honda motors that are either 3 or 4 Horsepower. It is not just the motor that makes the machine faster though, after all, these motors are common on most curbing machines. Curbmate machines are geared differently than the competition. We use different gear reduction ratios and different pulley sizes that make our machines extremely fast. You can throttle your Curbmate machine down so that it does not go as fast, which is beneficial when you are learning, but when the time comes to install more linear footage and make more money in a day, your Curbmate machine will get the job done for you.
Quick Release Forms. All of our Curbmate machines, since about 1995, have been equipped with quick release forms, also called molds or shoes. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is a huge time saver when you have to install a different style of curb. Most companies use bolt on forms. As your machine gets older, dirtier and more used, it gets difficult to change nuts and bolts. The nuts and bolts get covered with concrete and have to be chiseled away before you can use wrenches to undo the bolts. And hopefully, your crew has not left your tool set at the previous job site. With the Curbmate system, there are no tools required. The forms change out easily, usually within 30 seconds, by simply releasing the buckle by hand.
Durability. The Curbmate curbing machines are built to last. We build all of our curbing machines in the United States. We use 12 gauge steel on the body of all of our curb machines. We use industrial strength Honda motors and Baldor gear boxes. We are pleasantly surprised when a customer brings in a 15 or 20 year old curbing machine and wants to trade it in for a newer and faster model. These decorative curbing machines are built to work as hard as you do!
Now lets talk about two of our machine that are different than anything else that you will see on the market.
Curbmate Cobra. The Curbmate Cobra was introduced in January, 2003 and quickly became our best seller. It was modeled after the 409EX, which had become standard in the industry. The Cobra is the first, and only, machine on the market that is built with stainless steel construction. Stainless steel is easier to clean and maintain. It is also a stronger metal that will not rust, so it will last longer and make your company more profitable.
The Cobra is also equipped with a removable hopper. The removable hopper makes the machine easier to clean to maintain. When the hopper is removed, it provides much easier access to the inner workings of the machine, allowing you to clean more thoroughly and change out parts with greater ease.
The Cobra has a forward and reverse braking system that makes installation of curbs on hills much easier. It has a wider stance for more stability. It has wider tires so that it will float better in muddy and sandy conditions.
The Cobra is definitely one of a kind. You will not find another decorative curbing machine like it on the market today.

Curbmate 509. The Curbmate 509 is anther machine that sets us apart from our competition. This curb machine was designed to install standard residential landscape curbing and small commercial curbing. It is an all in one style machine.
The 509 has an interchangeable undercarriage and compaction ram system that makes it the best machine for residential decorative curbing jobs and commercial jobs. It is the only machine on the market that changes the undercarriage and compaction ram when you change from residential curbing forms to commercial curbing forms. When you put on a larger form and undercarriage, you will also put on a larger plunger. This gives the 509 the best compaction on the market. You have full compaction whether you are using a 6, 8, custom 10 or custom 12 form. This is unique to the 509. Other brands will give you wider forms, but not a wider compaction ram, and you will not receive full compaction in the width of your curb.
The Curbmate 509 is equipped with a 4 HP Honda motor that will handle any curb job up to 12 wide. It comes standard with three 6 wide forms and three 8 wide forms. We can custom build forms up to 12 wide and 8 tall.
The Curbmate 509 is the most versatile decorative curbing machine on the market today.
